Today, university people from Michigan Goodwill Mission visited our Kusatsu factory of PPJ (Pulsed Power Japan laboratory ltd.), through the introduction of Shiga Prefecture Industrial Support Center.
Shiga prefecture and Michigan, both of which have great Lakes, joined together to form a sister state relationship in 1968, celebrating its 50th anniversary next year.
The original important matter was the exchange of information and knowledge about conservation and development of natural resources in Michigan and Shiga prefecture.
Every year Michigan and Shiga send goodwill missions alternately, and currently promote the interactions in three fields; “culture ・art・ sports”, “youth” and “economy”.
This year, which is an odd year, the mission of Michigan was sent to Shiga Prefecture.
A commemorative ceremony will be held in Michigan next year, when the sister state relationship will mark its 50th anniversary.
We are really honored that people from the long-established mission visited us and we wish the good relationship of Michigan-Shiga sister state will continue on forever.
We also would like to contribute to the industrial development of Shiga prefecture and international technological development.
